RICHMOND, Va. —GPM Investments Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of ARKO Corp., started selling beer at eight new locations.

This brings the total number of GPM stores selling beer to 1,225, the Richmond, Va.-based convenience-store chain said.

Since November, beer licenses have been added to GPM stores in Kentucky, Arkansas and Texas. The municipalities where these stores were located were previously dry, but after the November 2020 election, local laws allowed businesses to apply for beer licenses.

The eight stores sell hard cider, seltzer and beer from a variety of premium, value and imported brands, GPM said. Customers can purchase a variety of pack sizes from single-serve items up to 24-packs.

"Overall, customer response has been positive, and we are excited to offer a variety of beverage options in these newly licensed stores,” said Chuck Pippin, category manager for beer, wine and spirits at GPM. “When legislation changes, we are able to quickly adapt our product offerings to provide customers with everything they need in one store.”

Richmond, Va.-based GPM operates or supplies stores in 33 states and Washington, D.C. Brands include Fas Mart, Shore Stop, Scotchman, BreadBox, Young's, Li'l CricketNext Door Store, Village PantryApple MarketJiffi StopAdmiralRoadrunner MarketsJiffy Food MartsE-Z Mart1 Stop,TownStar and ExpressStop.
