ALEXANDRIA, Va. —Don Rhoads, president and CEO of The Convenience Group LLC, Vancouver, Wash., has been named the 2022-2023 NACS chairman. He began his term following the NACS board of directors meeting on Oct. 1 during the NACS Show in Las Vegas. Kevin Farley, COO of GSP, Clearwater, Fla., has been named 2022-2023 NACS Supplier Board chairman.

The Convenience Group LLC owns, operates and franchises eight neighborhood convenience stores in Washington and Oregon. Rhoads began his convenience career in 1989 as president of the Quick Shop Minit Mart, a retail store chain in Vancouver. He joined The Convenience Group in 2000 and has led the company in strategic growth, planning and establishment of long-term goals and policies and building the company’s asset portfolio.
As NACS chairman, Rhoads also leads the NACS Executive Committee, which provides strategic direction and financial oversight to the association.

- Vice Chairman, Treasurer: Ken Parent, senior advisor and past president of Pilot Co., Pilot Flying J LLC, Knoxville, Tenn. (Parent is CSP’s 2022 Retail Leader of the Year.)

- Vice Chairman, Legislative: Lisa Dell’Alba, president and CEO, Square One Markets Inc., Bethlehem, Pa.
- Vice Chairman, Member Services: Annie Gauthier, CFO and co-CEO, St. Romain Oil Co. LLC, Mansura, La.
- Vice Chairman, Research and Technology: Chuck Maggelet, president and CEO, Maverik Inc., Salt Lake City
- Vice Chairman, At Large: Victor Paterno, president and CEO, Philippine Seven Corp. dba 7-Eleven Convenience Store, Mandaluyong, Philippines
- Vice Chairman, At Large: Brian Hannasch, president and CEO, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., Laval, Quebec (Hannasch was CSP’s 2021 Retail Leader of the Year.)
Also serving on the Executive Committee are 2021-2022 NACS Chairman Jared Scheeler and 2020-2019 NACS Chairman Kevin Smartt, CEO, TXB Stores Inc., Spicewood, Texas.
During the meeting, NACS also named new retail members to its board:
- John Jackson, founder and CEO, Jackson Food Stores Inc., Meridian, Idaho
- Brian McCarthy, vice president of purchasing, Blarney Castle Oil Co., Bear Lake, Mich.
- Tony Miller, president of Alon Brands and executive vice president of Delek US Holdings, Delek US Holdings Inc., Brentwood, Tenn.
During the NACS Show, the NACS Supplier Board also named new leadership and members. In addition to Farley, David Charles, president of Cash Depot, Green Bay, Wis., has been named chairman elect, and four new members were elected to the NACS Supplier Board:
- Jerry Cutler, senior vice president of sales, InComm Payments Inc., Atlanta
- Jack Dickinson, strategic account senior manager for Dover Fueling Solutions, Dover Corp., Downers Grove, Ill.
- Mark Falconi, vice president and general manager of retail sales, Oberto Snacks Inc., Kent, Wash.
- Kevin Kraft, channel director for small format, FIFCO USA, Rochester, N.Y.
Founded in 1961 as the National Association of Convenience Stores, NACS is a member-driven organization led by a 30-member board, which includes three retailers from non-North American countries. In addition, the chairman and chairman-elect of the NACS Supplier Board also serve on the board of directors.
