WAWA, Pa. — An all-natural Angus burger is leading the way in Wawa’s 2021 promotion of several new dinner items.
The burger, available at Wawa’s more than 900 convenience stores across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Washington, D.C., is customizable with choice of cheese, sauce, bacon and a variety of toppings.
- Wawa is No. 10 on CSP’s Top 40 Update to the 2020 Top 202 ranking of c-store chains by store count.
The burger also is the No. 1-selling item at Wawa’s new drive-thru in Falls Township, Pa., and Westampton, NJ, with availability at those stores starting at 11 a.m.
“Wawa is excited to launch our new dinner platform in 2021 with the burger becoming the first dinner item to roll out across all stores,” said Mike Sherlock, Wawa’s chief product marketing officer. “Burger festivities are designed to give customers a taste of the new product and drive excitement for a new line of fresh, quality and convenient options at dinner time.”
Customers also can order the burger in-store via a touchscreen, with curbside service starting at 4 p.m., and with a Wawa third-party delivery service partner: DoorDash, Grubhub, Postmates or Uber Eats.
As part of the promotion, customers can enter online for a chance at winning a year’s supply of burgers through Friday, Feb. 19. Wawa is also giving away “I Burger Wawa” T-shirts and $25 gift cards on radio stations. Finally, a Wawa burger mobile will appear at upcoming grand openings and give away “I Burger Wawa” T-shirts. The first stop is scheduled for Feb. 18 at Wawa’s grand opening in Eatontown, N.J.
