Gas City Picks Rudy

Retailer will carry sports drink lines

FRANKFORT, Ill. -- Rudy Beverage Inc. (RBI), a portfolio company of Global Beverage Solutions Inc., has shipped the first order of the sport drink Rudy Revolution and Rudy! Rudy! Flying Colors, a lower-sugar alternative to soft drinks for children, to the Gas City Ltd. independent chain of standard and commercial fueling stations and convenience stores.

Frankfort, Ill.-based Gas City operates 47 locations in northeastern Illinois, northwest Indiana, Florida, Arizona and Illinois.

Gas City will be the first retailer to carry our [image-nocss] beverage lines in the Chicago area, close to where Rudy grew up, said Drew Carver, president of Rudy Beverage, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Founded by Notre Dame sports legend Daniel Rudy Ruettiger and Drew Carver, a beverage industry expert and son-in-law of former Fighting Irish coach Dan Devine, Rudy Beverage is focused on creating and distributing sports drinks that offer great taste as well as healthy choices for parents, kids and athletes.

Rudy! Rudy! Flying Colors and Rudy Revolution are the first in the new line of low-sugar, high-nutrition beverages that also offer Rudy's inspirational message of hopethat never give up spirit immortalized in the movie Rudyon every bottle.

Tulsa, Okla.-based Global Beverage Solutions invests in a portfolio of companies that primarily engage in manufacturing, distributing and selling beverages worldwide. Its portfolio companies include EON Beverage Group Inc. and Rudy Beverage, Scottsdale, Ariz.
