The coffee giant intends to shut the two remaining outlets of its Evolution Fresh cold-pressed-juice chain next month, according to a report in CSP sister publication Restaurant Business. The shops feature cold-pressed juices, salad bowls and sandwiches.
Bottled Evolution Fresh-brand juices will continue to be sold inside Starbucks cafes and supermarkets and some c-stores, the report said.
Starbucks bought the Evolution Fresh brand in 2011 for a reported $30 million. It opened four retail outlets under the Evolution Fresh name but has more recently pared back the operation.
