BP's ampm Rolls Out World of Warcraft Fountain Drink Cups

Retailer joins forces with Blizzard Entertainment; customers can enter sweepstakes

LA PALMA, Calif. -- Convenience store retailer ampm has introduced an exclusive range of limited-edition collectible fountain cups featuring artwork from Blizzard Entertainment's multiplayer online role-playing game, World of Warcraft.

"This series of four collector cups is a great innovation for our Fountain category and will be highly prized by the huge gaming community that visits our stores on a regular basis," said ampm president Bill Fry. "We're very excited to be aligning our ampm brand with the creative team at Blizzard Entertainment through this outstanding promotion."

The series of four 32-once cups featuring iconic World of Warcraft artwork retail for $1.99 each with an ampm fountain drink. These cups depict some of the most powerful and notorious characters from World of Warcraft lore, including Illidan Stormrage, the Lich King and Deathwing. Limited stocks of each design have been supplied to ampm stores throughout the country.

"We're pleased to partner with ampm to bring gamers-on-the-go this awesome set of collectible cups," said Paul Sams, COO of Blizzard Entertainment. "Each one showcases a central character from our first three World of Warcraft expansions and provides players with a fun memento of their time in Azeroth."

A QR code found on the in-store signage enables customers to access an online campaign landing page and sign up for the ampm sweepstakes to win epic World of Warcraft and ampm loot, such as ampm gift cards, World of Warcraft-themed clothing and gaming peripherals, and more. This webpage will also feature a link for new players to try the game free by downloading the World of Warcraft starter edition.

The above promotion will be communicated online and through unique point-of-purchase (POP) display stands at ampm's 1150 locations nationwide.

Best known for World of Warcraft and the Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo franchises, Irvine, Calif.-based Blizzard Entertainment Inc., a division of Activision Blizzard, is a developer and publisher of entertainment software.

The ampm brand was founded in 1978 in Southern California by ARCO, and ARCO-branded ampm stores are currently found in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Arizona; BP-branded ampm stores are located in Chicago, Orlando, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Atlanta
