EZ Energy USA Debuts Easytrip Eats

Retailer launches its own sandwich line; donates $40,000 to education fund

SEVEN HILLS, Ohio -- EZ Energy USA Inc.'s Easytrip Stores has launched its own sandwich line. The brand, called Easytrip Eats, is positioned as a value offer for its customers and includes wedge sandwiches, burgers and subs for under $2, with breakfast sandwiches retailing for 99 cents.

The line launched in early October and featured a coffee and biscuit promotion for $1.49.

"In this economy it is crucial to have value in your offer, especially with so many other choices available to the customer," said Frank E. White, EZ Energy USA's director of marketing.

The chain is positioning the new brand as part of its commitment to the value proposition of "terrific people, great assortment and value offers," he said.

The company's foodservice strategy emphasizes prepared foods, grab-and-go meals and daylong foodservice options, according to CSPedia.

In other company news, EZ Energy USA has committed to a $40,000 donation to the Homeless Children's Education Fund in Pittsburgh, it said. The donation was made by Easytrip Stores' sponsorship of Hundred Acres Manor Haunted House.

On hand for the check presentation was Pittsburgh Hockey player Brent Johnson, executives from Homeless Children's Education Fund and EZ Energy USA.

The Homeless Children's Education Fund is a nonprofit group serving children and youth experiencing homelessness in Allegheny County, Pa.
