Nielsen Acquires The Perishables Group

Fresh-food consulting, category development firm joins information, analytics company

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- Nielsen, a leading global provider of information and analytics around what consumers watch and buy, has acquired the Perishables Group Inc., an industry expert in fresh food consulting and category development.

Nielsen acquired all company assets including data, advanced analytic IP, tools and ongoing client work. All employees of the Chicago-based company will join Nielsen's North America Consumer Analytics team.

Nielsen will integrate perishables information and knowledge into its extensive retail measurement operation, providing a larger spectrum of insights across total store.
