NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- Manitowoc Foodservice has announced that Dennis O'Toole has joined the company as the new vice president of marketing for Manitowoc's North America Ovens and Advanced Cooking Technology (ACT) operating company. In his new position, Dennis is responsible for marketing for the North America Ovens and Advanced Cooking operating company, which combines Cleveland, Lincoln, Merrychef USA, Garland convection ovens and Convotherm USA oven lines.

In other company news, Manitowoc, Wis.-based Manitowoc Ice has been recognized for excellence in product design in the 8th annual Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News magazine. An independent panel of 30 contractors acted as judges in the contest that had 127 entries from more than 80 different brands. The company's Indigo Ice machine was the gold level in the Refrigeration and Ice Machine Category.

The recently released Indigo Series ice machine simplifies the ice making process, the company said. The blue indigo display provides diagnostics and monitoring of refrigeration systems. This built-in information helps make service calls faster and more accurate, it added. The display can also be used to improve energy management, set proper ice production levels, streamline cleaning processes, maintain ice quality and show the automatically saved installation date if warranty work is ever needed.

"We are very pleased to receive this prestigious recognition from our service contractor community," said Rick Showers, vice president of marketing for Manitowoc Ice. "The electronic storing and reading of data makes servicing easier and reduces labor and machine downtime. This award acknowledges our commitment to developing energy efficient and operator-friendly ice machines."
