The Pantry Partners With Noble Roman's

Pilot pizza program to premiere in Raleigh

CARY, N.C. -- The Pantry, Inc., a leading convenience store operator in the southeastern United States, has announced a partnership with Noble Roman's Inc., an Indianapolis-based nontraditional pizza franchisor for a pilot program featuring Noble Roman's branded foodservice system.

The pilot program will begin with a first location inside a Kangaroo Express, The Pantry's primary convenience store operating banner, in Raleigh, N.C. It is slated to open in the first quarter of 2012.

With a tradition of "quality customers can taste" dating back to 1972, Noble Roman's pizza-focused foodservice systems for c-stores are affordable, productive and easy to operate, the company said. Recognizing the current and growing popularity of pizza, and knowing the keys to successful foodservice in convenience stores, The Pantry chose Noble Roman's as its partner in this pilot program.

Along with its pizza, Noble Roman's is known for its breadsticks, but also provides a complete menu of products for foodservice within c-stores and other venues--items ranging from a complete breakfast lineup to pasta, wings, subs and more.

The company encourages operators awarded a Noble Roman's franchise to customize the scope of their menu based on their specific objectives, providing operator flexibility. Additionally, Noble Roman's has authorized its c-store operator partners to begin merchandising the company's take-n-bake pizza program, offering a new profit center under the Noble Roman's name.

Based in Cary, N.C., The Pantry operates more than 1,625 stores in 13 states under select banners, including Kangaroo Express. The Pantry's stores offer a broad selection of merchandise, as well as fuel and other ancillary services.
