Unveils foodservice management solution for petroleum, c-store operators

MILWAUKEE -- RedPrairie Corp. has introduced its Food Service Management solution for petroleum and convenience stores. The solution optimizes foodservice operations for retailers, including food preparation, production planning, recipes and fresh item management. This information can be fully integrated with inventory, labor and sales data for an accurate forecast of production and labor requirements and assistance with minimizing waste.

Used by foodservice operators such as Culver's, Dunkin Brands, Cara, Popeye's and Church's Chicken, RedPrairie's [image-nocss] Food Service Management solution is now available to petroleum and c-store operators. Altoona, Pa.-based convenience retailer Sheetz Inc. uses RedPrairie's solution to reduce its foodservice costs through an improved alignment of demand with production plans and food inventory, RedPrairie said.

"Petroleum and convenience retailers have been looking hard at the inside of the store to make up for the shrinking margins on fuel," said Kevin Saum, vice president and general manager of petroleum c-stores for RedPrairie Retail Productivity Solutions division. "Many operators are now looking towards fresh and prepared foods to improve their in-store margins and add customer visits and loyalty."

As a long-time technology vendor to the foodservice industry, RedPrairie has developed a platform that uniquely handles the many requirements of fresh food management. PCS retailers can now set up recipes for depletion and use sales forecasts to prep items to meet demand while minimizing waste. Retailers with smaller foodservice offerings can add value by tracking paper goods used with each item sold, or tracking waste on donuts at the end of the day. Prep worksheets take the guesswork out of how many hot dogs and sausages to put on the grill each hour, and when to make a new batch of coffee.

The Food Service Management is an integral part of RedPrairie's E2e Retail suite, which provides an integrated suite of applications for managing petroleum, foodservice, retail and hospitality. Together, these solutions address the full spectrum of site and headquarters' operations, including workforce management, inventory management, operations management, learning management and performance management.

Milwaukee-based RedPrairie is a consumer driven optimization company. Built on an advanced Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) developed over the past 15 years, the RedPrairie integrated suite of solutions offers on-demand capabilities to more than 32,000 sites worldwide for many of the world's largest companies, the company said.
