Rutter's Tops 2008 'Best of York' Survey
Takes first in six categories: breakfast, coffee, deli, lunch
YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's topped The York Sunday News' 2008 "Best of York" rankings in six categories, beating out a number of national brands, the company said, citing the newspaper.
Rutter's took first place in the breakfast, coffee, deli/sub/sandwich, fast food, lunch and milk categories. Rutter's came in ahead of Cracker Barrel (breakfast), Starbucks (coffee), Subway (deli/sub/sandwich), Wendy's (fast food) and Panera Bread (lunch), said the report.
"We're grateful to York Sunday News readers and to our loyal customers for continuing to put their trust [image-nocss] in the Rutter's brand," said Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter's Farm Stores. "Their votes in this survey and voting every day by shopping in our stores means a lot to the whole Rutter's team."
Todd Rutter, president of Rutter's Dairy, added: "We're proud to be the local guys serving our neighbors, who have been drinking Rutter's milk and stopping at Rutter's stores for their everyday needs for generations."
Rutter's Dairy has served York County since 1921, and Rutter's Farm Stores is celebrating 40 years in the convenience store business.
Based in York, the family-owned Rutter's companies include Rutter's Farm Stores, which operates 52 c-stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania; Rutter's Dairy, which serves Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey; and M&G Realty, a real-estate development company.
