Among those who eat pizza, 58% have a favorable opinion of Pizza Hut, while 34% view it unfavorably. That includes 18% with a very favorable opinion of the largest pizza chain in the United States and 10% with a very unfavorable view.
In close [image-nocss] second is Papa John's, with favorables of 54% and unfavorables of 31%. This includes 20% very favorable and 10% very unfavorable; 15% are not sure.
Domino's is seen favorably by 48% of those who eat pizza, including 8% with a very favorable opinion; 38% have an unfavorable view of the nation's second largest pizza chain, with 11% who have a very unfavorable one; 14% are undecided.
The fourth largest pizza chain in the nation, Little Caesars, is viewed favorably by 42% of American pizza-eaters, including 13% with a very favorable opinion; 37% have an unfavorable opinion, with 12% very unfavorable; 20% are not sure.
A plurality (43%) of adults who eat pizza says the last time they ate it, they picked it up to eat at home; 25% actually made the pizza at home, while 16% ate it at a restaurant; 15% had it delivered.
Adults ages 30 to 49 eat pizza more regularly than those in other age groups. Just over one-out-of-four Americans age 50 and older (26%) say they rarely or never touch the stuff.
Married Americans and those with children in the home are more likely to pick up a pizza to eat at home than those who are unmarried and don't have children living with them. Adults with children at home are also more likely to eat pizza than those without.
