LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Thorntons Inc. announced that it has opened six new stores during December 2009. The company opened four new stores in Nashville, Tenn., expanding the market to 10 locations in 2 years. It also opened a new store in the Chicago suburb of East Dundee, Ill., and another location in Champaign, Ill.

With the addition of these new locations, Thorntons now operates 161 locations throughout Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana and Ohio.

Customers can look forward to a clean and friendly environment with high-quality foods, such as fresh sandwiches, [image-nocss] salads, fruit and more, according to the company.

The new stores feature a redesigned look with a greater focus on fresh food and refreshments. This includes Thorntons' innovative roller-grill-bar design featuring "hot off the grill" items such as hot dogs, corndogs and more.

The stores also offer a large variety of fountain drinks, frozen Icee flavors, smoothies and fresh coffee. They have top-quality products at grocery-store sizes and competitive prices. The sites also include the company's 100% guaranteed fuel offer.

"We are thrilled about the grand openings of our newest stores," said CEO Matt Thornton. "Our goal is to provide our customers with a unique shopping experience. From our world class JaLava Coffee, to our high-quality fresh food and value-priced snack, beverage and grocery products, we hope to delight our customers with an enjoyable one-stop shopping experience."

All of the stores opened with unique promotional offers on products and services that make consumers' lives easier, the company said. Thorntons will have formal grand-opening events between late February and early March. Customers of all ages will be able to enjoy the Thorntons' mascot, Champ, and take advantage of all the great savings Thorntons has to offer consumers.
