DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Inc.--which is celebrating its 87th birthday with more than a week of free offers beginning July 11, which the company calls "7-Eleven Day"--had to temporarily suspend the promotion after a glitch with the convenience store retailer's mobile app prevented customers from downloading the offers.
The c-store chain's Facebook page said, "7-Eleven Week is even bigger than we imagined!! We're working on a few issues, but keep your confetti close by and we'll be back soon."
"There was such high demand for our 7-Eleven Week offers that we experienced technical difficulties with the offer section of the 7-Eleven App over the weekend," company spokesperson Margaret Chabris told CSP Daily News. "In the interest of providing the best experience for our guests, we suspended the program on Sunday and Monday and are re-launching the 7-Eleven Week program on Tuesday, July 15."
She added, "The offer program has been enhanced. We now will have a free offer through the 7-Eleven app every day between July 15 and July 24, and we have added additional coupon offers as a thank you. Guests can simply show the barcode while they are in the store for the offer each day found in the 'What's in Store' section of the app to redeem their free item at a participating 7-Eleven store.
