Separately, TravelCenters of America LLC is inviting all truck drivers who are also veterans of the United States armed services to enjoy a complimentary meal on Veterans Day at any participating TA and Petro sit-down restaurant nationwide.

The companies are among the many convenience store, gas station and travel center industry retail chains that honor veterans each year.

Throughout the day, Wawa expects to give away more than 200,000 cups of coffee, thanking these dedicated men and women and their families for their service.

"Veteran's Day gives us all a chance to pay tribute to the men and women who serve our country so bravely, and this year, thanks to the efforts and suggestions of our associates, we're excited to recognize our veterans in new and meaningful ways," said Chris Gheysens president and CEO of Wawa, Pa.-based Wawa. "We're doing this through a massive care package assembly at Wawa University the day before Veterans Day, and on Veterans Day itself, free coffee giveaways in our stores. Since 2002, we've been providing troops abroad with a taste of home through our coffee care packages, and it's an honor to celebrate our veterans and their families in our stores, with this free coffee offer."

Operation Taste of Home care packages are an annual tradition organized by Wawa Associates and supported by the USO of Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey (Liberty USO) who, together, help send thousands of care packages to our troops currently deployed. Through the years, Wawa has sent hundreds of thousands of cups of coffee and care packages to the troops overseas who have written to request it.

Westlake, Ohio-based TravelCenters of America, operator of TA and Petro Stopping Centers branded travel centers, is offering anyone who is a veteran of the armed forces and holds a CDL a complimentary meal of their choice (up to a $15 value) by showing proof of service to their server prior to ordering their meal. On November 11, they can get a Veterans Day meal at nearly 220 participating Iron Skillet, Country Pride and other full-service, home-style restaurants within TA and Petro Stopping Centers.

Proof of service includes U.S. Uniform Services Retired ID Card; Veterans Organization Card; Photograph in uniform; DD214; or Citation or Commendation.

"Once again, we are taking this opportunity to thank the many truck drivers who are also military veterans for their service and sacrifice--both in our armed forces, and each day on the road," said Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters of America, Westlake, Ohio.
