JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Acosta, a full-service sales and marketing agency in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, recently appointed Steve Matthesen as president and chief executive officer.
Matthesen, with more than 20 years of experience in consumer data, analytics, business strategy and operations, joins Acosta from The Nielsen Co., where he most recently was president of global retail, responsible for leading Nielsen’s retailer relationships in more than 100 countries around the world.
Prior to joining Nielsen, Matthesen was a partner at The Boston Consulting Group, where he collaborated with leading CPG companies to develop and execute growth strategies.
Matthesen succeeds president and CEO Robert Hill, who has become vice chair of the board of directors and will continue to work with Acosta’s clients and customers in this new role. Hill has been with the company and industry for more than 30 years, working in a number of capacities at Acosta since 1994.
“In a world where data is directly impacting the purchasing decisions of retailers and shoppers more than ever before, Steve brings an analytical perspective that will accelerate Acosta’s strategies and enhance the value Acosta provides to our clients and customers,” said Hill.
Jacksonville, Fla.-based Acosta provides a range of outsourced sales, marketing and retail merchandising services in the United States and Canada.
