Dollar General Now Accepting American Express

"Offering additional flexibility in customers’ payment choices"

NEW YORK & GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. -- American Express and Dollar General announced all Dollar General stores now accept American Express cards as a form of payment. The rollout of American Express card acceptance capability throughout the Dollar General chain offers customers additional flexibility and convenience to make their shopping easier. Dollar General is the nation’s largest discount retailer by store count with more than 11,500 locations in 40 states.

“We strive to provide our customers with a simple and hassle-free shopping experience,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s chief operating officer. “The acceptance of the American Express card makes shopping even easier by offering additional flexibility in customers’ payment choices and is consistent with many of our new initiatives, including DG Digital Coupons, which are all aimed at making it easy to save time and save money at Dollar General.”
