Texas, Hawaii Retailers Add U-Haul

Two more stores offering moving equipment, supplies

ALICE, Texas -- Silvestre Rodriguez, owner of Silver Star Food Stores in Alice, Texas, recently added U-Haul truck and trailer rentals to the convenience store business he has been operating since 1998.

"Providing U-Haul rental equipment is just one more way of meeting the needs of our customers. U-Haul is a strong company that can help us achieve that goal," Rodriguez said.

And Shirley K. Rawlins, owner of Rawlins Chevron Service in Kaunakakai, Hawaii, recently added U-Haul rentals and moving supplies to the gas station business she has been operating since 1972.

"We saw the need in our community for these kinds of services and we had the capacity and resources to add this to our existing business at the same time providing something new to our island," Rawlins said.

Retailers can now offer its customers a variety of moving equipment and supplies designed specifically for moving household furnishings, including moving vans, open trailers, closed trailers, furniture pads, appliance dollies, furniture dollies, tow dollies and auto transports.

Phoenix-based U-Haul was founded by a Navy veteran who grew up during the Depression.
