Irving Oil, Shaw's Supermarkets offering gas promo

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Irving Oil Corp. recently launched a gasoline discount promotion with Shaw's Supermarkets. More than 40,000 Irving customers have saved money on fuel since the promotion began three weeks ago, the company said, and customers have been saving an average of 24 cents per gallon when redeeming their Shaw's coupons at participating Irving locations.

"This is a great way for people to save when they are purchasing two essential items—fuel and food," said Ross Elkin of Irving's Gas Rewards Team. "We want to remind everyone that the program lasts until February 14, and [image-nocss] any coupons collected up until that time can be redeemed until February 28."

There are 57 Shaw's Supermarkets and more than 140 Irving locations participating in the program throughout Maine and New Hampshire.

Customers shop at participating Shaw's stores with their Shaw's Rewards Card. Gasoline coupons valued at 10 cents per gallon, redeemable at participating Irving locations for up to 20 gallons of fuel, will be issued after a minimum purchase is made. Savings grow up to 60 cents per gallon on a $300 purchase.

Customers present their Shaw's Rewards Card and gasoline coupons at Irving to receive the discounts. Customers can combine the discount coupons up to the price per gallon of gasoline, and some who have collected enough coupons in the pilot program have received a full tank of fuel for free, the company said.

Shaw's, Osco and Star Market are a division of SUPERVALU Inc. Throughout the six New England states, there are more than 200 store locations.
