Alltown C-Stores Lead $70,000 Fundraising Drive for Boston Children's Hospital

Global Partners' Slifka to present check on May 23

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Customers and cashiers at Global Partners LP's Alltown convenience stores, Mr. Mike's convenience stores and Fast Freddie's convenience stores have proved that many small gifts go a long way. In just three weeks, the 100 stores across New England raised $71,349 for Boston Children's Hospital, thanks to the generosity of store patrons who each donated $1 at checkout.

The money raised will be used to help support The Children's Fund.

"The success of Alltown's inaugural Boston Children's Hospital campaign exemplifies the spirit of giving among our customers and the outstanding effort by our cashiers in requesting donations," said Global Partner's executive vice president Andrew Slifka, who will present a check to Michael Bornhorst, director of corporate initiatives at Boston Children's Hospital Trust during a May 23 ceremony.

"Global and Alltown are honored to play a role in contributing to Boston Children's Hospital, a pediatric hospital whose extraordinary research and exceptional care have transformed the lives of children around the world," he said.

"We are fortunate to have the generous support of Alltown's employees and customers as Boston Children's Hospital strives to fulfill its missions of patient care, research, and community health," said Bornhorst. "This donation, which will allow Boston Children's Hospital to continue to effect real change in the lives of our community's youth, is a great tribute to the spirit of the Alltown team."
