OREM, Utah -- Q Comm International Inc., a provider of prepaid transaction processing and electronic point-of-sale (EPOS) distribution solutions, has entered into a contract with existing sales and marketing partner, Best Telecom, a full-service provider of domestic and international prepaid calling cards, to provide three additional long-distance products to the entire Q Comm merchant network.
Q Comm will make the new cards available to its merchants in both PIN-only and Point-of-Sale Activation (POSA) formats. While both formats work with all Q Comm [image-nocss] supported terminals, the POSA format specifically enhances the calling card offerings of Q Comm merchants using VeriFone terminals, which print only on paper. With the POSA calling cards, VeriFone merchants will now be able to swipe-activate hard cards at the point of sale to provide customers with a more durable product.
Consumers prefer phone cards that are more durable than standard receipt paper, said Michael Keough, president and CEO of Q Comm, Orem, Utah. While durable phone cards have long been available to merchants using Q Xpress terminals, the Best Telecom POSA cards enable our VeriFone merchants to meet this demand.
The three long-distance products now offered through this deal include unique features. The True Blue Choice card provides low-cost calling within the United States. The One World One Card offers low international rates and allows the cardholder to make calls to anywhere in the world from the United States, Mexico or Canada. Additionally, the La Mejor de Mexico card offers competitive rates to Mexico. All POSA cards are rechargeable.
