Cenex Tells Retailers, Customers & Communities 'We're With You'

Initiative celebrates customers' good deeds, generates engagement

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Cenex, the CHS energy brand, has launched a new a social platform aimed at engaging retailers and their customers by recognizing and rewarding the everyday acts of kindness that make their communities a better place to live. As part of a new corporate marketing campaign launched last December, Tanks of Thanks is a program that invites Cenex retailers, customers and community members, to nominate others for free fuel from their local Cenex retail location as a way of saying thank you for their contributions to their community.

"Customers trust the Cenex brand because our locations are locally owned and an active part of the communities they serve," said Kayte Haaland, CHS refined fuels marketing manager. "The We're With You campaign and the Tanks of Thanks program reinforce our philosophy that our customers and our communities are at the heart of everything we do."

Anyone can nominate or be nominated for any act of kindness, big or small. People can participate in the program by visiting TanksofThanks.com and briefly describing why a community member deserves a Tank of Thanks.

The site will also feature nominations from communities across the country, highlighting the selfless acts that make these communities great places to live, work and play. Each month, 12 nominees will be drawn at random to receive a Tanks of Thanks gift card worth $50 in free fuel.

In addition to the monthly drawing, each Cenex retailer can also give away Tanks of Thanks gift cards to reward individuals they see doing good in their local communities. By the end of 2012, the company anticipates that Tanks of Thanks will recognize more than 2,500 people.

"The Cenex brand has deep-roots in the communities that we serve, and we're  delighted to give back to those people who go out of their way to make the community a better place," added Haaland. "These acts of kindness do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. The Tanks of Thanks program is our way of celebrating and sharing inspiring stories and hopefully encouraging others to think about ways they can make a difference, too."

In addition to rewarding those that contribute to their communities, the We're With You campaign also includes a new Cenexperts blog, providing insight from CHS experts on everything from ways to improve fleet efficiency and tips for heavy machinery maintenance, to home heating safety and tips for deep-frying a turkey.
