NATSO Show registrants now can purchase tickets to the Shelby American, NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, scheduled to be held Sunday, Feb. 28. The NATSO 2010 Show is scheduled to be held Feb. 27-March 3 at Caesars Palace.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series fundraiser is an opportunity for participants to network with colleagues and customers or reward top-performing [image-nocss] employees, all while supporting the work of the NATSO Foundation.
The nonprofit NATSO Foundation is the research, education and public-outreach subsidiary of NATSO, the trade association representing the truckstop and travel plaza industry.
Last year, the NATSO Foundation raised funds to finance such projects as tool kits to help truckstop and travel-plaza owners secure grant opportunities for idle reduction technologies and help truckstops and the motoring public prepare for a potential disruption to business or travel plans due to an H1N1 outbreak.
In 2009, the NATSO Foundation awarded Bill Moon Scholarships to eight accomplished students in the amount of $2,500 each to pursue higher educational opportunities. The foundation annually awards the Bill Moon Scholarship to deserving students with ties to the truckstop industry and whose academic qualifications and achievements are considered outstanding.
The mission of The NATSO Foundation is to conduct research and create knowledge that will benefit the travel-plaza and truckstop industry and secure its future; to provide educational opportunities to industry employees; and to coordinate public outreach programs, which benefit the general public and enhance the industry.
