Pin Up a Pumpkin

Casey's, TA, other retailers helping raise funds for St. Jude
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Casey's General Stores Inc., Hess Corp. and Travel Centers of America LLC are among the retailers taking part in the 18th annual Halloween Promotion to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of the world's premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. The promotion will kick off October 1, 2009.

During the monthlong Halloween Promotion, thousands of restaurants, convenience stores, grocery stores and other retail locations nationwide will encourage consumers to make a $1 donation [image-nocss] to St. Jude to support its groundbreaking research and lifesaving care for kids battling catastrophic childhood diseases. In return for their contribution, donors write their names on pumpkin-themed pinups, which the establishments display throughout the month of October.

Since the program began in 1992, MillerCoors, its distributors and retailers have raised more than $41 million for the children of St. Jude.

Pinups can be purchased nationwide at Casey's General Stores, Fox & Hound Restaurant Group, Hess and Travel Centers of America, as well as various local retail outlets.

Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family's inability to pay. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fundraising organization.
