Rutter's Rewards Cardholders Top 100,000

Loyalty program "exceeds expectations" in first three months
YORK, Pa. -- The number of Rutter's Farm Stores customers who are saving money on gasoline with their Rutter's Rewards cards has topped 100,000 in the program's first three months, the company said. With a tagline of "See the Icon, Buy the Product, Earn the Reward!," Rutter's Rewards allows customers to earn cents off gasoline by purchasing one of more than 1,600 everyday items bearing a special display icon.

"The response to Rutter's Rewards has exceeded our expectations," said Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter's Farm Stores. "It is a great way for us to give something [image-nocss] back to our customers for their loyalty and to give them a really good reason to keep coming back."

Most items carry a one-cent reward. For a limited time, however, the purchase of any size coffee earns three cents off per gallon. A customer who buys a cup of coffee every morning for a week would earn a discount of 15 cents per gallon on his or her next fillup.

All grades of gasoline, plus diesel and kerosene, are eligible for redemption of cents-off rewards, the company added.

It is free for consumers to participate in Rutter's Rewards, and there is no limit to the dollar amount that customers can earn. Rewards are good for 60 days from the date on which they are earned. To get started, customers pick up a Rutter's Rewards card and brochure at any Rutter's store. Cards can be registered online atwww.RuttersRewards.com or by returning the application to any Rutter's store.

Rutter's Rewards customers receive two key chain cards and one magnetic stripe card. To earn rewards, they present any one of the cards when they purchase a qualifying item. The magnetic stripe card (not the key chain cards) must be used at the pump or at the cash register to redeem the accumulated awards.

Family-owned and third-generation managed, York, Pa.-based Rutter's Farm Stores operates 55 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania.
