"People who used to drive by on the way to Cabela's are coming in to buy jerky, sausages, cheese curdsall kinds of snacks," according to store co-owner Lyons. The location offers a sampling program.
Other select retail items include hot sauces and relishes, flavored peanut butter, flavored peanuts, popcorn and pretzels, game meats, homemade fudge and assorted cheeses.
The smokehouse-themed d acor has a simple but very friendly "Northern Michigan" feel, the owners said. The floors are covered in a colorful rustic tile; spacious granite counters are used for customer convenience and a mounted buffalo adorns the wall.
