Cal Ripkin Jr. Introduces Jerky Line

Ripken Power Shred made from lean American beef
LONG VALLEY, N.J. -- Florio Sports LLC has teamed with National Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. to launch Ripken Power Shred, a new jerky product made from lean American beef. The new shredded beef jerky snack is sourced and made in the United States. Ripken Power Shred's original line offers three flavorsoriginal, sweet n' spicy and teriyakiand is available in 3-oz. resealable pouches and 0.75-oz. cans.

During the product's initial launch, Ripken Power Shred can only be purchased at www.ChewJerky.com. Ripken Power [image-nocss] Shred can be purchased online in a six pack of cans ($10 plus shipping and handling) or pouches ($34.95 plus shipping and handling), as well as cases containing 84 cans ($126 plus shipping and handling) or 24 pouches ($126 plus shipping and handling).

Florio Sports said it anticipates that the product will be available in retail outlets by spring 2011.

Baseball's "all-time Iron Man," Cal Ripken Jr. is most recognized for having played in a record 2,632 consecutive games during his career. Through this venture, Ripken Power Shred is supporting the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, the nonprofit that bears the name of the Ripken family patriarch, dedicated to serving at-risk youth and underserved communities throughout the United States. A portion of the proceeds of all Ripken Power Shred sales will benefit the Ripken Foundation for the next five years.
