HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- Mars Chocolate will introduce a new ice-cream bar with M&M's candies just in time for the summer selling season. This new product is available now to convenience, drug, grocery and mass retailers.
The new 2.64-ounce invididually wrapped ice-cream bars are made with M&M's and reduced-fat vanilla ice cream, and covered in milk chocolate.
Mars' last frozen-novelty release, the M&M's Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich, has outpaced other treats in its category and grown by more than 10%, according to data from Nielsen. The frozen-novelty-bar category as a whole is growing more than two times faster than the rest of other new product types, such as popcicles, cones and other novelties, within that category, according to the data.
"Building on the success of our M&M's Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich, we are incredibly excited to introduce our fans to this innovative summer treat," said Flip Block, marketing director for Mars Ice Cream. "M&M's have been a chocolate icon for 75 years now, and we're thrilled to be able to offer another way to enjoy them."
The new M&M's Ice Cream Bars can be purchased in six-bar boxes for $3.99, or in 2.64-ounce single-bar format for $1.79.
