DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Available exclusively at Wal-Mart for a limited time, the newest Oreo cookie variety to come out of the Mondelez flavor factory is … drum roll, please … strawberry shortcake, Consumerist.com leaked online.
The new cookie sandwiches strawberry crème between two golden Oreo wafers.
A company spokesperson confirmed for CSP Daily News that the Strawberry Shortcake Oreo will be in store beginning the week of April 4, 2016, while supplies last, for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $4.49.
It will be offered in the smaller, 10.7-ounce square-shaped novelty Oreo flavor package, according to the Consumerist report.
No word on if and when it will be offered to retailers for sale in convenience stores and other channels.
Other recent Oreo flavors have included cinnamon bun, cupcake, brownie batter, s’mores and red velvet.
