Pete's Gourmet Confections Debuts Stout Beer Bites

Alcohol-free candy pairs oats, barley, malt, hops ... and chocolate

MEDFORD, Ore. -- Pete's Gourmet Confections has unveiled Pete's Stout Beer Bites, a new beer candy for craft beer lovers, available in grocery stores.

"With this recipe," says Peter Croyle, confectioner and brewmaster, "we've elevated beer candy to the level of craft brewing."

Prepared in small batches, Pete's Stout Beer Bites are a fusion of rich nougat and handcrafted chocolate stout beer. Starting with a mixture of roasted oats and barley, chocolate malt and dark crystal malt, the master brewer then blends in the Cascade and Nugget hops before finishing the confections.

"As a dedicated home brewer, a micro-hop yard farmer and a confectioner, the signature flavors are a culmination of seasonal expertise," said Croyle. "Beer Bites will have beer lovers and candy lovers alike wagging their tongues for a taste."

Although Croyle recommends pairing Stout Beer Bites with a dark ale or a gourmet pretzel, the nougat-based beer candy is alcohol free and for all ages.

Medford, Ore.-based Pete's Gourmet Confections is a privately owned and operated candy company specializing in gourmet marshmallows, premium chocolates and artisan holiday candies.
