Mistic Expands National Sales Organization

E-cig maker adds four industry veterans to meet growing demand

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Mistic, maker of high quality, value-priced electronic cigarettes and vapor products, has expanded its national sales organization with the addition of four new regional sales management positions:

Mistic e-cigarettes
  • Gina Simmons, regional vice president sales, Southeast, previously served 15 years at Altria Group.
  • Frank Maglio, regional vice president sales, Northeast, also worked at Altria Group for 26 years.
  • Todd Hassenfelt, regional vice president sales, Midwest, formerly employed at Altria Group for 15 years.
  • Annie Turner, regional vice president sales, West, previously served in various sales positions over the past 12 years, including Altria Group, PepsiCo and Yum! Brands.

“We are pleased to have attracted these exceptional executives, who bring to our company many years of relevant industry experience,” said John Wiesehan Jr., CEO of Mistic. “The expansion of our sales organization is testimony to the growth of our Mistic and Haus brands and the increasing number of adult smokers who are making the switch to Mistic as an alternative to other e-cig brands, as well as to traditional tobacco cigarettes.”

Mistic is now the second-leading brand of e-cigs across the XAOC (extended all outlets combined) category, based in part on data reported by Nielsen XAOC Database and Wells Fargo Securities LLC. The company achieved a 17% share in dollar sales and a 26% share in unit sales for the four weeks ending Aug. 2, 2014.

The company also continues to generate the highest percentage gains in year-over-year sales within the c-store category. Sales for Mistic in the c-store channel grew 333% in the four weeks ending Aug. 2, 2014, compared to the same period last year, according to Nielsen’s Scantrack enhanced AOC database and the Nielsen C-Track database. For the last four weeks ending July 5, 2014, and June 7, 2014, year-over-year sales in the c-store channel grew 523% and 400%, respectively.
