BOULDER, Colo. -- Smoker Friendly International LLC announced several changes in the management structure of the company and its Cigarette Store Corp. effective immediately. The changes were instituted to better define points of contact and streamline communication within the company and its company-operated stores, according to president Terry P. Gallagher Jr.
At The Cigarette Store Corp., Dan Gallagher is now vice president of operations. Dan will be the point person for all cigarette-manufacturer contacts and will be thesenior team leaderin [image-nocss] all operational, promotional and contract decisions in the chain's 100 company-operated stores. Dan will also be the point of contact with all major suppliers. The company's sales and marketing manager will report directly to Dan,and Dan will report to Terry Gallagher Jr.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Weiner is now sales and marketing manager. Weiner is moving from area manager to this previously vacant position and will be responsible for all other manufacturer and vendor relationships outside of major-brand cigarettes. Weiner will take on all buying, planning, promotional activity, plan-o-grams, marketing and advertising of roll-your-own and make-your-own products, domestic cigars, premium cigars, premium, luxury and import cigarettes, accessories, liquor, wine, beer and all general-merchandise products. Additionally, all advertising and marketing will fall under Weiner's direction.
Over at Smoker Friendly International LLC, Mary Szarmach is now vice president trade marketing. Szarmach will work full time in the operation of SFI and will have direct responsibility for the existing Smoker Friendly private-label products and development of product line extensions. In addition, she will directthe annual SFI Conference and Tobacco Festival, the SF Buyers Guide and annual SF catalog, marketing and advertising for the Smoker Friendly Authorized Dealer program and facilitate all manufacturer and supplier relationships with SFI.
Szarmach will report to Kathleen Gallagher, who has been promoted to vice president business development. Kathleen is the senior team leader for SFI and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of SFI and the Smoker Friendly Authorized Dealer program. Kathleen will report to Terry Gallagher Jr.
Finally, for both branches of the company, Ben Chaney is now vice president finance and has been namedchief financial officer. All accounting, finance, information systems and human resourcesfor both organizations will report to Chaney, who will report to Terry Gallagher Jr.
The changes come four months after former vice president of sales and marketing Mickey Falconburg left the company to take a position within the tobacco industry.
Boulder, Colo.-based Smoker Friendly International licenses its trade name and sells private-label cigarette and tobacco products through a network of Smoker Friendly authorized dealers, of which The Cigarette Store Corp. is a member.
