Bishop to Knight Two

Hertel, Weitzel named managing partners

BARRINGTON, Ill. -- The firm of Willard Bishop, celebrating its 30th year of providing consulting services to the retail and foodservice industries, will set a new management structure into motion in 2007 that will enable the firm to maintain its heritage and meet the needs of clients in the changing marketplace.

Jim Hertel, formerly senior vice president, and Paul Weitzel, formerly vice president, have been named managing partners and will immediately assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company. In their new roles, Hertel [image-nocss] will continue to lead business development, marketing and client service, and Weitzel will continue as head of the cost and profit optimization practice.

Bill Bishop, founder and former president, will become chairman and will continue to provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to both the organization and the industry.

Jon Hauptman and David Bishop have both been promoted to partner. Hauptman will continue to lead the firm's Retail Pricing, Trade Strategy, and Shopper Insights practices, and David Bishop will continue to lead the Convenience and Small Store Format practices.

Craig Rosenblum has recently accepted the newly created position of vice president, business development. Before joining Willard Bishop, he worked in business development for Prescient Applied Intelligence, CROSSMARK and Milton Merl Associates.

About the changes, Hertel said, Clients have valued the clarity, insight and thought leadership we've delivered over the last 30 years and expect us to deliver even greater value in the future."

Bill Bishop added, This transition is really the culmination of plans set in motion almost four years ago. We're celebrating our 30th anniversary this year, and this shift is really about positioning ourselves to serve clients successfully for the next 30 years.
