TONAWANDA, N.Y. -- NOCO Express, a family-owned and -operated convenience store chain with 35 locations in western New York, celebrated the grand opening of the newest and largest store in the company's history, kicking off the company's 80th anniversary. Located in Lancaster, the 6,000-square-foot, newly constructed store introduces a travel center and commercial diesel fueling stations.

As a boutique travel center, the newest NOCO Express offers three commercial diesel fueling stations as well as a variety of items for truck drivers, including a bulk diesel exhaust fluid fueling system.

The location features a variety of meal options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Open 24-hours daily, Tim Hortons offers customers a selection of coffees, specialty beverages, sandwiches and baked goods. For added convenience, it offers a drive-thru. Subway, also located within the new store, is open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. This store offers a line of specialty beverages including fountain soda featuring flavor shots, f'real milkshakes, Slush Puppie ice drinks and other frozen beverages. Customers can have a sandwich or beverage in a cafe-like seating area offering free Wi-Fi and national news programming.

"We've come a long way in evolving our current convenience store model from the first store we opened in 1984," said Michael F. Newman, executive vice president. "As NOCO celebrates its 80th anniversary, we are proud to open the largest NOCO Express in our portfolio; it's also the first store that offers a variety of features to meet the needs of both our on-the-go customers and commercial truck drivers."

The Walden and Pavement store was constructed with several environmentally friendly building technologies to reduce energy consumption. These include low watt LED lighting, a refrigeration energy management system, and white roofing for increased light reflectivity.

A light harvesting system was installed utilizing 16 skylights that allow natural light into the store. There is an energy management control system that automatically dims the store lighting fixtures during the peak daylight hours on an as needed basis. The store is also equipped with the mechanical infrastructure to accommodate electrical charging stations in the future as more electric cars start hitting the streets.

NOCO hired 32 employees to accommodate the customer needs of the new store. This grand opening brings the total number of NOCO Express stores to 35 in Western New York.

Celebrating 80 years of serving the Western New York community in 2013, family owned and locally operated NOCO is headquartered in Tonawanda, NY. NOCO is committed to meeting the energy needs of its residential and commercial customers at home, at work, and on the go. NOCO offers a full line of products and services including natural gas, electricity, propane, heating oil, HVAC sales and service, commercial fuels, and industrial lubricants. The company also operates 35 NOCO Express convenience stores throughout the region. NOCO prides itself on quality products at competitive prices.
