Reebok Reimagining the Gas Station

Fitness lifestyle brand launching new retail concept, ‘Get Pumped’ campaign

BOSTON -- Global fitness lifestyle brand Reebok has launched a plan to transform gas stations across the nation into “fuel stations for our bodies.”

Reebok and design firm Gensler have partnered on a new “Get Pumped” campaign to reimagine gas stations as fitness hubs, “where people can prioritize their mental and physical wellness as gas-powered cars continue to become obsolete. The goal is a country where a healthy gym and restaurant are no more than a few miles away,” the Boston-based company said.

The concept includes three different types of stations:

  • The Network: Reebok hopes to transform interstate rest stops into “the power grid of the future" to provide "a place where travelers can stop and generate energy through spinning and boxing, CrossFit, Les Mills and a running trail.”
  • The Oasis: Reebok hopes to turn the larger gas station that commuters pass on small, local highways into “recharge zones, to capitalize on the type of mental and physical rest those commuting need.” Food offerings will include a farm-to-table eatery and a juice bar, as well as yoga and meditation pods. The exterior will include an herb garden and outdoor running wheels.
  • The Community Center: Reebok hopes to transform the local, small-town gas stations into four different ways for consumers and communities to “enhance their healthy life.” People can charge electric vehicles; take nutrition classes; get local, healthy food in the convenience store; and take CrossFit and spinning classes in pop-up trucks.
