Bucky's current food distribution center, which the company rents, should be fully moved to the new site in about four months, she added.
With [image-nocss] the move, Buck's Inc. will add 20 new employees, Brodkey said. "We picked the location because it's centrally located, and it's close to [Interstate 80]," Brodkey said. "That will allow us to have efficient service to our stores."
Kush, a former professional football player who built a chain of furniture stores, now runs a furniture consignment operation in one of the main buildings, said the report. He closed his Rod Kush's Furniture stores in Omaha, Council Bluffs, Lincoln, Norfolk and Fremont Neb., in April 2006 and sold three pieces of commercial property after the closings.
Brodkey said that in addition to the warehouse being more centrally located for Buck's, it will provide room for growth for the Omaha, Neb.-based company.
Buck's is building a new Bucky's Express in Omaha and is considering other sites. "We're always kind of looking at our opportunities and growing in the local marketplace," she told the newspaper.
Bucky's Express sells food, candy, gum and beverages at all its locations. The company also operates three Bucky's Express stores in Illinois and two in Missouri.
