Covington Quickstop Gets Krispy Krunchy

Louisiana c-store operator considering second location

COVINGTON, La. -- Covington Quickstop in Covington, La., is among the more than 200 new Krispy Krunch Foods locations opened this year. This quick-serve restaurant (QSR) concept now has locations in 27 states in almost 800 retail locations.

Cal Chabata is the owner and operator of Covington Quickstop. This is his first Krispy Krunchy Foods experience, and he said he is "thrilled" with the increase in sales volume the program has brought to his store.

"I have been seeing new customers since I put Krispy Krunchy in this location," he said.

Chabata said he believes the quality and variety of food offerings provided by Krispy Krunchy Foods is one key to assuring the community that he is serious about providing delicious food at reasonable prices.

He added that he especially likes the professional graphics program Krispy Krunchy Foods brings to his operation. "Customers are complimenting us on the new graphics and menuboard as well as the great food. We are seeing increased sales and pleasing customers--that's what it's all about for us," he said.

Having been in the foodservice business before, Chabata said he understands the importance of well-trained employees. He said he is impressed with the training his six foodservice employees received from a Krispy Krunchy Foods certified trainer. He also said he finds the efficiency of the operation has improved during the month.

Chabata owns another store in downtown New Orleans, and he said he is considering opening his second Krispy Krunchy Foods location very soon.
