Hornyak Joins Southside Oil

Appointed senior vice president of wholesale fuels at MACS subsidiary

RICHMOND, Va. -- Southside Oil, a wholly owned subsidiary of the largest ExxonMobil fuel distributor in the region, Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores (MACS), has appointed John Hornyak as senior vice president of wholesale fuels. Hornyak brings to the Southside Oil team experience as a senior executive in the integrated oil business, with leadership credentials in strategic development of wholesale operations and convenience retailing.

His duties will include oversight of wholesale and commercial customer sales, enhancing Southside Oil's strategic partner profitability.

Hornyak [image-nocss] has executive leadership experience with Mobil, ExxonMobil, 76 (Circle K), Phillips 66, and ConocoPhillips, and his proven track-record of expertise in all areas of supply, retail, and marketing will be an asset to the Southside Oil leadership team, according to Dan Pastor, CEO of MACS. "One of John's strongest attributes is his ability to provide leadership and develop individuals inside an organization to achieve significant results," he said. "We are enthusiastic about leveraging John's experience as we build our wholesale and retail businesses."

Hornyak played a key part in the development of marketing strategies during five major oil mergers and acquisitions throughout his more than 20-year career in the industry, and he has been highly recognized for his work to cultivate channel-partner relations, employee moral and profitability.

Horynak, most recently, comes to Southside Oil from Spirit Ventures, an entrepreneurial business he founded to provide consulting services for acquisitions and consolidation of retail marketing assets.

"To join forces with John at this critical stage of MACS' and Southside Oil's growth is significant," Pastor emphasized. "Our strategic focus on platform development and desire to grow our wholesale and retail organization fits perfectly with John's strengths. We are looking forward to John's leadership as we position ourselves for growth to become the premier wholesale supplier of fuels in the region."
