Rebranding West Virginia

Woodford Oil adds Shell to brand portfolio on heels of Chevon/Texaco exit
ELKINS, W.Va. -- Woodford Oil Co. has signed a distribution agreement with Shell Oil Products U.S. as part of its efforts to help its 74 Chevron and Texaco gasoline station customers switch to a new national supplier of branded fuel and petroleum products.

"After Chevron announced late last year that it would withdraw from several East Coast regional markets, there were many Chevron and Texaco retailers looking for a new branded petroleum product partner to work with," said Todd Woodford, vice president and COO of Woodford Oil, Elkins, W.Va.

Under its agreement with Shell, Woodford Oil will distribute Shell fuel and other petroleum products to retail service stations and convenience stores throughout West Virginia.

"We are excited to work with Woodford Oil to expand the distribution of Shell's products in our East Coast markets," said Chuck Ryan, regional sales manager, Shell Oil Products US, Great Lakes Area. "Woodford's focus on reliable and convenient customer service fits well with our focus on product innovation and excellence."

Woodford Oil also distributes fuel under the Marathon, Sunoco, Exxon, Mobil and CITGO brands throughout West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

"Many of our Chevron and Texaco station customers, including several Par Mar stores in our region, are already in the process of switching over to new brands, and we will continue to work with our other customers to help them choose the best brand for their individual circumstances," said Woodford. "And because Woodford Oil has relationships with so many national fuel companies, we are confident we can enable our customers to achieve their rebranding goals."
