Tesoro Names Moreau VP of Marketing

Company also helps Meals on Wheels programs

SAN ANTONIO -- Tesoro Corp. has named Claude P. Moreau as vice president of marketing effective August 27, 2007. The lead marketing position was previously held by Dan Porter, who was recently named senior vice president of supply and optimization.

Moreau will report to Tesoro's executive vice president and COO Bill Finnerty.

Moreau has an extensive background in marketing and business development and most recently held the position of chief commercial officer for the Americas for Trafigura AG. Prior to that, he held marketing [image-nocss] and business development positions with Texaco Canada Inc., Alimentation Couche Tard Inc. and Texaco International Ltd. in West Africa, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. From 2001 to 2003, Moreau was vice president manufacturing and marketing for Chevron Texaco Latin America Products Co. He began his career in 1981 with Texaco Canada in the marketing division.

In other company news, San Antonio-based Tesoro teamed up with 15 Meals On Wheels programs around the nation to donate two cents of every gallon of gasoline sold at its more than 450 Tesoro locations from August 17-19. It helped raise public awareness about the issue of senior hunger in America and to provided funding to those programs to better serve homebound seniors within their communities.

Tesoro also donated $2,500 in fuel cards to each of the 15 programs to be used by the programs and their volunteers to purchase gasoline needed to make deliveries.

The company pledged a minimum contribution of $100,000 to the programs throughout the three-day campaign. Funds will be divided based on the number of seniors served by each program.

The $100,000 will be presented as a charitable donation to the 15 local Meals on Wheels programs located in the following locations: Kenai, Anchorage, and Fairbanks, Alaska; Spokane and Tri-Cities, Wash.; Pocatello, Idaho; Salt Lake City and St. George, Utah; Honolulu; Mandan, Fargo and Grand Forks, N.D.; Detroit Lakes and Avon, Minn.; and Atascadero, Calif.

We are happy to partner with Meals on Wheels for this worthwhile charitable cause and hope that our leadership will encourage other companies in our industry to help support the organization, said Finnerty. Our goal is to fuel the organization's delivery cars and trucks and encourage volunteers to continue to provide the much needed food to their recipients.
