Dresser Acquires Performance Retail Inc.

Purchase involves certain assets of InSite suite

AUSTIN, Texas -- Dresser Wayne, a division of Dresser Inc., has acquired certain assets of privately held Performance Retail Inc. PRI is a leading provider of web-based business intelligence solutions for petroleum retailers. The purchased assets relate to the current version of PRI's InSite product suite. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

This acquisition is another major step in our commitment to redefine the technology landscape within the petroleum retail market, thereby significantly influencing improvements of our customers' overall [image-nocss] business performance, said Neil Thomas, global president of Dresser Wayne.

PRI's InSite product suite is an integrated, web-based retail business intelligence solution built specifically to meet the needs of convenience store operators and other petroleum retailers. Using InSite software, retailers can improve the profitability and efficiency of key business processes such as merchandising; category, inventory and vendor management; store operations; and loss prevention.

Combining the InSite product suite's business intelligence engine with the customer-facing sales and marketing capabilities of the Dresser Wayne iX Technology Platform, we are providing retailers with a complete merchandising solution unlike anything else available.

As with other Dresser Wayne solutions, the InSite product suite is an open, modular technology. The InSite product family can be integrated with third-party applications, including virtually any point-of-sale (POS), backoffice and pricebook system, to provide an enterprise-wide view of critical business data for multi-site retailers. The InSite product can even support retailers utilizing different POS systems at various locations. The suite's modular design allows retailers to deploy the applications they need today and easily add additional capabilities as they grow.

PRI employees, except for its most senior management, are expected to transition to Dresser Wayne, the companies said.

Dallas-based Dresser Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer and marketer of highly engineered equipment and services sold primarily to customers in the flow control, measurement systems and compression and power systems segments of the energy industry.

Dresser Wayne, Austin, Texas, is a major, longtime player in the retail fueling industry. It was the first to introduce self-service consoles and fuel-blending dispensers to gas stations, in-pump card readers and cash acceptors, in-pump radio frequency identification (RFID) payments systems and dispenser-mounted touchscreen payment/communication systems, it said. Also, it designs and markets software systems that enable its retail fueling customers to manage the c-store aspects of their businesses more efficiently, including inventory control, pricebook management, labor management and site administration.
