Imperial Oil Appoints President

March comes from refining side of business

CALGARY, Alb. -- The board of Imperial Oil Ltd. Has appointed B.H. (Bruce) March to the position of president effective Jan. 1, 2008. He was also elected a director of the company.

March is currently director of refining for Europe/Africa/Middle East with ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical BVBA, in Brussels, Belgium, an affiliate of Exxon Mobil Corp.

T.J. (Tim) Hearn, currently chairman, CEO and president of Imperial Oil, continues as chairman and CEO.

March joined Mobil Oil as a project engineer in 1980 [image-nocss] and advanced through increasingly responsible management assignments in refining, supply, environment and health and safety. He was named production manager at the Beaumont refinery in 1993. In 1997, March was appointed manager of production trading for Europe in Mobil's supply transportation area, and became a senior advisor of operations with ExxonMobil's global Refining & Supply Co. in 2000. In 2003, he became manager of the Baton Rouge refinery, and in 2006 was the project executive for a Middle East gas-to-liquids project with ExxonMobil's Development Co.

He was appointed to his current position earlier in 2007.

Calgary, Alberta-based Imperial Oil, the subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corp., is Canada's largest petroleum refiner and has a leading market share in petroleum products sold through a coast-to-coast supply network that includes close to 2,000 gas stations.
