Frank P. Greinke, who has served as the chairman of United Fuel's board of directors since October 2007, and as president and chief executive officer since June 2008, will continue to serve as the chairman and CEO.
"Due to Joe's hard work, dedication and expertise at turning [image-nocss] around troubled operations, our operating results have shown substantial improvement since he joined the company in March of 2008 as executive vice president and chief operating officer," said Greinke. "The board and I feel that a promotion to president and chief operating officer is well deserved. Of course, 2009 will likely be a challenging year, but we believe that Joe has demonstrated that he can continue to lead United Fuel in the right direction."
Prior to United Fuel, Juliano, 31, was president of PNEC Corp., which is a distributor of heating oil, gas, diesel, lubricants and alternative fuels in the Pacific Northwest, since 2005. From 2004 until 2005, Juliano served as vice president of PNEC. From 2002 until joining PNEC in 2004, he served as a territory sales manager for Southern Counties Lubricants LLC, a distributor of lubricants in California, doubling the territory sales volume and increasing gross margin by 100% over a two-year period.
