US Tank Alliance Earns Shell UST Testing Contract

Firm will provide compliance, other services to more than 1,700 stations

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- US Tank Alliance Inc., a national provider of underground storage tank (UST) system testing and cleaning, has been awarded a three-year contract with Shell Oil Co. to keep Shell stations in compliance with state and federal UST testing requirements.

Under the contract, US Tank Alliance will provide compliance, construction, emergency and divestment testing services to more than 1,700 Shell facilities across the United States. The contract covers all states with Shell stations except for California.

"US Tank Alliance [image-nocss] proved to Shell that we are able to meet the challenge of providing testing services on such a large scale," said Fernando Crosa, president and CEO of US Tank Alliance, Columbus, Ohio. "We are pleased to continue our partnership with Shell and to help the company comply with all state and local testing regulations."

Shell wanted to condense its 30 contractors across all of its regions to one contractor in order to eliminate the variations in testing prices and contracts. US Tank Alliance's contract with Shell became effective on January 1, 2007.

US Tank Alliance has collaborated with Shell on previous projects. In 2005, US Tank Alliance used its PetroPure technology with Shell to help the company prepare 3,000 USTs, from Massachusetts to Virginia and parts of Texas, for ethanol conversion.
