McLane, G & M Oil Extend Distribution Deal

Retailer plans growth

TEMPLE, Texas -- McLane Co. Inc. said that it has extended the service agreement with G&M Oil Co. Inc. Headquartered in Huntington Beach, Calif., G&M Oil is the largest Chevron direct-serve retailer in North America, in addition to operating Shell- and Valero-branded locations. Overall, G&M Oil operates more than 120 locations with additional growth plans under development.

George J. Pearson, vice president and director of stores, said, "Our service agreement with McLane provides us the confidence that our grocery distribution will be managed [image-nocss] by a team that is committed to the success of G&M Oil. We believe in outstanding customer service and so does McLane."

G&M Oil has grown in the Southern California market through acquisitions and site development.

"McLane is honored to continue to be entrusted with the grocery distribution services for G&M Oil Co. We are committed to supporting their success in providing outstanding service and business resources," said Bobby Carlson, president of McLane's Sunwest and Southern California divisions.

Dallas-based McLane provides distribution services throughout the United States, delivering food and nonfood products to more than 50,000 customer locations, including the convenience store, drug store, mass merchandise, quick-service restaurant and movie theater industries. Headquartered in Temple, Texas, the company operates 19 grocery distribution divisions and 18 foodservice distribution centers as well as an industry specific software company. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
