Goose's Edge Buys Queen K Chevron

Station will be rebranded to Tesoro

KONA, Hawaii -- On Feb. 1 2007, Goose's Edge Inc. will be owner and operator of Queen K Tesoro. Goose's Edge, a privately held corporation, has purchased the land lease, building, car wash and total facilitycurrently known as Queen K Chevronfrom Albert and Shirley Akana for undisclosed price.

Goose's Edge now has 12 locations on four Hawaiian islands. Its tores are branded Tesoro and Shell. It has one on Kauai, five on Oahu, two on Maui, and now four on The Big Island.

The company employs approximately 150 employees, it said, [image-nocss] and total sales average more than $50 million per year.

Captain Al Gustavson, with wife Suzanne, has owned Goose's Edge since 1979.

Gustavson said that the biggest change at this storealong with new brandingis that it will be open 24/7, 365 days a year.

"I've been in this business 30 years and this is the best station I've ever seen," he told The Pacific Business News in a separate report. "It's a monster store" that does a huge amount of business because of its location near the harbor.
