Duxbury, Mass.-based VERC Enterprises recently acquired Mayflower Food & Spirits, a gas station and foodservice hybrid based near the famous Plymouth Harbor in Plymouth, Mass.

VERC plans to invest $400,000 to $500,000 to upgrade the Mayflower Food & Spirits, which it acquired earlier this year. The site has about 6,500 square feet of retail space, including six aisles of groceries and a deli counter.
Mayflower Food & Spirits is VERC’s first location with a full liquor license.
VERC plans to make upgrades throughout the store, including cashier transaction equipment and refrigerators, coolers and freezers.
In addition to traditional c-store items, the Mayflower Food & Spirits site offers groceries, such as fruits and vegetables, and wine, beer and liquor.
Mayflower Food & Spirits includes a full-service deli, with prepared food, including meals to go. Offerings include shepherd’s pie, steak, pork chops, vegetables and more. VERC plans to adapt this model to some of its other locations.
