Road Ranger Opens New Travel Center

Also opens new Subway units

FENTON, Mo. -- Road Ranger LLC has opened its second travel center in Missouri, located on I-44 near St. Louis in Fenton. Previously occupied by the St. Louis Truck Port, Road Ranger officially began new construction in March and is on schedule for a June 2006 opening.

Strategically located near I-270, the new full-featured travel plaza will showcase a service area for gasoline, diesel lanes, a Ranger gift shop, CAT scales, coffee as well as the usual amenities professional drivers expect. In addition, this location will include a Subway sandwich shop.[image-nocss]

Road Ranger will be the only travel plaza in the Fenton metro market, the company said. This key property is located in the vicinity of Chrysler's largest plant outside of Michigan.

Road Ranger's currently has 48 convenience stores and travel plazas in Illinois, southern Wisconsin, northwestern Indiana, Missouri and Iowa.

The Rockford, Ill.-based company also is preparing to open a Subway sandwich shop in its Springfield, Ill., Road Ranger Travel Plaza.

The unit will be Road Ranger's 13th Subway, with others located in South Beloit, Loves Park, Rockford, Cherry Valley and Rochelle, Ill., and also in Lake Station, Greenwood and Brazil, Ind., in addition to St. Robert, Mo.

It is also preparing to open its 14th Subway, in Tomah, Wis., located inside the Road Ranger Travel Plaza there.

In other company news, Road Ranger is having a Summer Car Give-Away promotion featuring a Belvidere, Ill.-built 2007 Dodge Caliber. The promotion starts Memorial Day, May 29, 2006, and runs through the summer until Labor Day, Sept. 4, 2006. The Grand Prize will be awarded at Belvidere Motors on Labor Day.

Along with the Dodge Caliber, the promotion features select special prizes from many of the participating vendors including Apple iPods, cash gift cards, food and drinks. When a customer purchases any of designated brand-name candy bars, packaged soft drinks and snack foods, they will receive a Scratch-and-Win card. If the scratched-off area on card reads, KEY, the customer will be one of fifty contestants who have the chance to try their key in the ignition of the car. If the car starts, they win.
