TA Takes Troy

Acquires Ill. truckstop; adds Pronto! Pass service

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America (TA) has announced the acquisition of an existing independent truckstop in Troy, Ill., just east of St. Louis, located on I-55/I-77 and State Route 162 at exit 18, to its growing network of travel centers.

The full-service restaurant is open 24 hours, seven days a week, with more than 185 seats in the dining area. This restaurant will convert to a TA Country Pride. In addition, a travel store offers a variety of brand name beverages, snacks and travel products.

TA St. Louis East has a [image-nocss] standalone truck repair and maintenance facility featuring a three-bay truck service center that is open 24-hours, seven days a week, and ASE-certified technicians.

Other conveniences at the site include 16 diesel dispensers, 120-space truck parking area, emergency road service, a lounge area with game room, TripPak Scanning, Interstate Scales, six showers, WiFi and the RoadKing Club. Other TA amenities and services, including IdleAire, will be added in the future, the company said.

In other TA news, the chain recently enhanced its Pronto! Pay service and has developed Pronto! Pass. Drivers can now print their receipt at the pump. They do not have to wait in line at the fuel desk. They can insert their fuel card or enter their code number into the Pronto! Pass system at the pump, fuel up, print the receipt and go.

Headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, TA has 163 sites in 41 states and Canada.
